Mission Statement: To share the Good News of Jesus Christ with ALL so that, through His Grace and Love, we may grow together to enjoy a life of Freedom.
Open Range Cowboy Church began with a small group of likeminded brothers and sisters in Christ responding to God’s call to “gather the strays”—to gather those who have gotten lost on the trail of life—those who have wandered from the flock, and those who have been led astray. Answering God’s call, Open Range was established and God’s round-up began.
In the beginning, services were held in a back yard welding shop in Krum. Week after week, God’s faithful servants graciously moved their welding shop around, set up chairs and prepared for God’s company. And, week after week, more and more strays gathered to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Lord has had His Hand on Open Range Cowboy Church from the beginning and He has richly blessed our every move. Six months into God’s round-up, a sister in Christ deeply discounted the land on which our new church building was constructed and soon fully paid for. Her late husband had designated the land as “God’s Land” on an aerial photograph. Six months later we broke Holy ground. We held the first service in our new building in April of 2012.
Led by Pastor John Ritchie, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through a nonjudgmental message, the Open Range Cowboy Church family continues to grow. The gained knowledge of the love and grace of Jesus Christ has changed many lives. Since the beginning of Open Range Cowboy Church there have been over 100 baptisms—new dedications and rededications of lives to Christ.
